Pagnotta: Our Story

1967 – The Beginning

Mario Pagnotta arrives in Canada from rural Italy and begins work as a site labourer. His dedication and hard work soon lead him to become a successful site superintendent and eventually an entrepreneur, founding a self-performing construction company.

1995 – The Big Break

Pagnotta earns its first major opportunity with the construction of the Greenwood Inn in Edmonton. During this project, the company also purchases its first Tower Crane, marking the start of Pagnotta’s equipment capabilities.

1998 – A Growing Enterprise

Outgrowing the family basement, Pagnotta moves into its first corporate office. The company expands its operations and takes on larger, more diverse projects across Alberta.

Early 2000s – Expansion and Evolution

With Alberta’s construction boom, Pagnotta grows rapidly and develops three specialized divisions: Construction Concrete Equipment This integrated model gives the company a complete understanding of every project phase—delivering better service and stronger results for clients.

2008 – A Landmark Achievement

Pagnotta is awarded its largest concrete project to date: The EPCOR Tower in Edmonton. This milestone elevates the company’s professionalism, strengthens its safety culture, and refines its operational processes.

2009 – Expansion to Saskatchewan

Pagnotta opens a branch in Saskatoon, SK, extending its reach beyond Alberta.

2018 – Expansion to British Columbia

To meet growing demand, Pagnotta launches a Vancouver, BC branch, further establishing its presence across Western Canada.

Today – A Premier Western Canadian Builder

Pagnotta stands as a recognized leader in Construction, Concrete, and Equipment services, operating from three major branches across Western Canada. The company remains family-owned, deeply rooted in its values, and committed to growth, safety, and excellence in every project.
